I’ve considered buying one of the 12v warming lunchboxes but thought – why – if I already have the 3 qt instant pot, and it wouldn’t hurt my car battery on just warm while also driving. I’m thinking like a day trip from a campsite.

400 amp hours and 270 watts of solar have proven to be way more power then we can use.

I have a similar question! We’re really hoping to use our instant pot in the van but are struggling with making sure we have enough power.

I have the same model, the mini duo. I typically use it to make refried beans which I do for 1 hour on the bean setting. Did you have any meals that took this amount of time? Just wanting to make sure it wont be an issue since it isn’t a “quick” dish!
Thanks!

Watts are simply amps times volts. An instant pot powered by American 110v outlet and 700 watts would draw 700/ 110 = 6.36 amps

Thanks

You could do that but it would limit the type of meals you can cook. We see it as a supplement, not a replacement.
